India’s Rise on the World Stage: The 21st India Conference at Harvard

A crucial forum for debating, evaluating, and promoting India’s rise to prominence as a global leader is Harvard’s India Conference.

Over a thousand people attend the two-day event at Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Business School, which is organised and developed by graduate students from across the university and features more than fifty speakers.

A Legacy of Insightful Discourse

As the conference marks its 21st year, it considers how far it has come from modest beginnings to become a major forum for international discussion on India.

Many influential people have shaped discussions and insights on India’s changing path over the previous 20 years, greatly impacting the conference’s impact. Having welcomed notable figures such as Nobel laureate Amartya Sen and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, the conference is dedicated to fostering thoughtful discourse.

India Rising: Envisioning a Bold Future

The conference’s 2024 theme, “India Rising,” sums up India’s transformation into a major world power. This platform will bring together a wide range of voices, including policymakers, business leaders, cultural icons, and academic experts, with the theme serving as a backdrop to explore India’s rapidly growing position on the global stage.

Many speakers will be offering a comprehensive perspective of India’s socio-political, cultural, and economic landscape through panels, fireside chats, and more.

During the two days, the conference will cover a wide range of topics including business, finance, social and urban policy, politics, economy, caste and religion, building a venture in India, Indian culture and fashion, investing in India, and many more. In addition to considering India’s past achievements and challenges, these discussions also focus on the country’s promising future.
